Happy Dog food

Hi all,

We are due to pick up our puppy in a fortnight which we are unbelievably excited about.
The breeder has all of his dogs on dry Happy Dog food which i've never heard of before. Our pup will come home with a fortnights worth of food and we will keep him on this Happy Dog food just to keep things familiar for him for the time being.
Does anyone know whether this brand is any good? I can't make head nor tail of the ingredients list.

Many thanks in advance.

I swoped my puppy on to a different food after a while. I used allaboutdogfood.co.uk to compare quality and price etc.

Wow I didn't realise that. That's really shifty. I'll be prepared for that then when I pick him up. Thanks for letting me know.

I always check dog food out on this site www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk

As you can see, Happy Dog has a pretty poor score. I would use the 2 weeks worth of Happy Dog to do a slow change over to something better.

Allaboutdogfood is a really good site.

Look for a good quality grain free kibble, preferably one that is high enough quality it is suitable for puppies and adult dogs so you don’t need to switch again later. We’ve been using various Millie’s wolfheart recipes for 4 years and highly recommend for customer service and more importantly no wind and small/firm/pickupable poo. They are suitable from weaning to adulthood, but home delivery only. There will be similar quality foods available, but they are a good representative ofthe quality of food to look for. Because they have no fillers our 34kg lab only has 250g a day so a bag lasts 8 weeks.

Thank you all for your help. Ive just been on the website you've mentioned and it's brilliant. Will definitely be looking to switch to a better quality product after the puppy has had a chance to settle in with us.

One of mine came with Happy Dog and I used up what they gave me and slowly changed to Akela 80/20- never had any problems.
