Toilet training at 9 weeks?

My gorgeous lab boy has arrived, but I'm struggling with toilet training. He doesn't seem to get the idea of pads yet. What's the best thing to use to clean up mess with? I have scrubbed and applied an odour spray but the smell is pretty bad.
The pup himself is starting to smell too, I've washed his feet and wiped his tummy and coat with a pet wipe but he still a bit whiffy. Is he too little to have a bath?

A bath would be fine. Warm water but not too hot with a shampoo for dogs and assuming you are in the UK and it’s winterdry him off quickly and keep him warm. I just used the bath in the bathroom for my whippet puppy.

I second the proper enzyme cleaner. Anything else and even if you can’t smell it anymore pup will and will keep returning to that spot. With the nightime toileting it’s definitely short term pain for long term gain. Good luck Smile

So last night I popped him in his new smaller space (kids baby park attached to wall), but took the pads away and he was dry all night. We have been quicker getting out and only had three accidents inside- so fast progress! Thanks for the advice!

That's so good to hear. Expect a few blips along the way but it sounds like things are moving in the right direction.
