Please help!
My almost 1 year old dog is terrible with food. We have (and I suspect this may be part of the problem) tried so many different varieties - even raw food. Ever since she was a pup she will eat half a bag of kibble/box of wet/half freezer of raw and then decide she doesn't like it anymore.
If after a morning wander I put the bowl in front of her she will even do a little lip-lick of distaste/anxiety and sometimes goes as far away from the bowl as possible. It's not until she's starving at the end of the day that she will eat - and even then she's started leaving some. We've tried different food bowls as well in case it's her bowl she doesn't like. I also take the food bowl up after 10-15 minutes or so if she ignores it and she then has to wait until the next meal time (though because I want her to eat I often offer it to her again an hour later)
She will happily take treats and steal food from the cat's bowl instead and is a very healthy pooch in all other respects.
This is driving me mad though as I know she isn't as big as she should be, and would love to get her into at least the bottom weight range for her breed (ESS 16-20kg).
Has anyone gone through similar problems?

Do you mix up the flavours? I went through lots of angst with mine but found that eventually wet was best as it's more 'smelly' than kibble (raw is not practical for me) but even then I alternate three different flavours every two tins to keep him interested. And no treats are given until the bowl has been licked clean so he now doesn't hold off to get treats.

One of mine is fussy (the other would eat anything) and what works for him is quality kibble with half a tin of Butchers wet (jelly or gravy - if loaf it has to be really mashed in). He adores sardines or egg instead of the wet food, but wouldn't dream of eating just dry.

Have you tried feeding her first thing, or leaving it till lunchtime?

@BiteyShark yes, at the moment we are on - deep breath - forthglade salmon/sweet potato/duck and something else pretentious with skinners junior working dog and natures menu dry kibble or nature diet puppy/junior or chicken or tripe or lamb mince.
She eats better than me - I'm vegetarian!
I've got chickens so will sometimes crack an egg into the bowl, she licks it off and leaves the rest.

@CMOTDibbler yes, I will offer her the food after a morning walk, if not, again at lunch or leave it until tea time.
thanks for replying
