What do you put in yours that keeps your dog occupied for more than 30 seconds?

Efpup isn't much bothered with his - he'll lick the easy stuff out but won't work to get the rest. He's occupied for 10 minutes maximum.

steppemum they often need to be broken into kongs gently. Start with just a few loose pieces of kibble that fall out easily. Once he starts to look forward to that then make it a bit harder for him (e.g. a smear of peanut butter covering the kibble) and so on.

Also, Kongs are brilliant but they are not a cure-all. Dogs that are too stressed or excited will not be able to settle to a kong, no matter how tasty. They will need help learning to settle themselves down first. If he sleeps happily outside the door, can he do that for a few nights until he learns his bedtime routine? Include a kong in that location so he starts to associate kongs with settling and sleep. You can then try moving him to the right location with the kong; maybe in stages, depending on your house layout.

I'd put his bed outside your door then slowly move it away over time if it were me.
