Why is my dog roaming the house all night?

My old boxer has decided he won’t sleep in the kitchen any more and bashed the dog with his head until he breaks out. Then he spends the whole night wandering intermittently - upstairs:downstairs. He wakes me up EVERY time with his scratchy paws and snuffly noises. Has he lost his marbles? I think I might lose mine! He’s 10 next March.

More walks and less sleeping during the day?

Tbh it could be a sign of dementia. Once your house is quiet and dark it could be unsettling him. He might not be able to see things as clear and be wondering / and wandering to find you in the dark. Perhaps a visit /call to the vet is needed.
