Floors - how do you cope with cleaning up wet and dry mud?

Three, large, long haired dogs here.

Endless mud tracked in - it is too wet to be hoovered up by a Dyson as it will break it I think. Could sweep it up but it's difficult to get into the corners.

What does everyone else do and how do you wash floors once it is up?

I just mop with a microfibre pad - I have a few so just attach, spray a bit of dilute floor cleaner on the floor and swoosh around. I have a washable microfibre mat by the patio door which does deal with the worst of it

I’ve only got one so it’s not quite the same but I wash her feet on the doorstep with a facecloth. I read it on MN (of course) when I was getting a dog. She lifts her feet up like a horse.

savage thank you - they are big though - I would probably use a facecloth for each foot as they get very muddy

CMOT so you don't get mud up first? Which one do you use (and which microfibre mat?).

I have turtle mats which are really good. (But also a long legged dog - lurcher - who doesn’t really get all that wet or muddy 😉)

No, it works great unless there are big clumps of mud - in which case I would wave a broom around, but usually I can corrall any larger bits so I can just use a dustpan and brush at the end. I have this mop, but keep meaning to buy the spray mop - we had one like it before but it broke.

The mat was one from ebay - I searched machine washable rug. It's no thing of beauty, but at times like this when I have three large dogs who are hoolying in and out of the house after doing laps of the garden it is brilliant

Crate next to the front door. I have tried cleaning the paws with a dry or a damp towel, does not do much to golden retriever paws though. I also have an inexpensive "mud mat" from Lidl both in front of the door and inside the crate.
For cleaning I tend to wipe up the mud while still wet with a microfibre cloth or mop. Otherwise it just gets smeared everywhere between the dogs, kids and hubby.

I only have one dog , if he’s out and gets muddy he goes straight into his doggy dry bag if he’s in the garden he can’t get muddy as he is only allowed on the patio if it’s wet / muddy .

I let the underfloor heating dry the mud and then hoover. Every day, sometimes several times a day...
Five dogs in the house so obviously we never have visitors anyway

Mud mat and an endless supply of doggy towels by each external door. Works better when you haven't got a tall young dog who's taught himself to open doors to let himself and the old rescue in........................

There's no easy way, is there!

Floral what's a doggy dry bag?!

We have a small dog so dunk paws in the sink and then towel off. We then keep her in the kitchen where she sulks under the radiator until she's dry.

I got a cheap steam mop of Amazon as well, it has been a game changer. Ddog was romping in the garden with dd earlier and then trekked a load of mud in, steam mop just glided over it all.
