Doggy Day Care

We lost our old dog a while back and are beginning to think of a new puppy. However, there are about 4-5 hours in the middle of the day when we are both out which is too long to leave a puppy. Does anyone use a doggy daycare service? If so, how much does it cost and what do you get for your money? Interested in general information before I start asking questions locally. Thx

I pay for half a day doggy day care and it's worth every pound and more. It's a dog walker so only have a few dogs in day care but he gets human and dog company and loves it. I pay £15 per day but obviously if I did the whole day it would be more which I occasionally have to do if I work late. I honestly feel so happy knowing he goes there.

Thanks. That's not far off what I thought, so that's good.

I pay a dog minder £15 for a full day. My dog gets two long off-lead walks with that. I also use a day care centre, a bit like a wacky warehouse for dogs with outside space as well. That costs £12.50 for half a day or £20 for a full day, but there are no walks included with that so I prefer to only put my dog there for half a day there.

Check with your local dog minders that they will take young puppies - some won't.

We use doggy day care. It’s about £20 for a full day and they took dogs from about 14 weeks. I find it’s really good for socialisation, he gets lots of love and treated like a family member. We previously used a different place but I wasn’t happy with how many dogs they had (probably 30+) with only 2/3 staff members. So just make sure you check out a lot of places and suss them out properly. Personally I prefer day care to a dog walker as at least there’s someone with him and he’s not at home bored.

We use it, £25 a day (in London). She loves it.

I use 2 ( a is favourite but I'm just as happy with b who usually has more availability)
A is a home environment
B is a traditional group daycare on a purpose built site
Both cost £15 per day and £20 if kept overnight (B takes them home after daycare if staying)
Ddog loves going to both

£30 a day in London. He absolutely loves it!

£20 a day here and gets a long walk at least once a day, sometimes twice.

She comes home exhausted! Grin
