Travel crate or similar

Can anyone recommend a soft or small travel folding crate to use for a puppy occasionally? My mum looks after my 4.5 month old schnauzer one day a week while I'm at work but her house is open plan and she's struggling to contain him when he gets over excited around the dc after school. I'd rather not take his actual crate back and fore since it barely fits in my car (and work mornings are so rushed anyway) so wondered if anyone had a better idea?

Or do I just admit defeat and buy a spare crate to keep at my mums!

I have had this type of crate and they are easy enough to fold flat. Fabric crated can be handy but with a puppy hr may well end up chewing it!

Put his lead on every time he gets excited and then let him off again once he is calm.

I'd just get another crate for your mums. We have fabric crates for camping, and they are a pita to put up wheras I can flip a metal crate up in under a minute
