My beautiful rescue bulldog Ronnie had to be pts this morning
She had a cough that wouldn’t go and when they X-rayed her late on Fri it showed that her poor little body was riddled with cancer
I had no choice, I wanted her to go with dignity but oh god, my heart is breaking
I don’t know why I’m writing this really, just to get it off my chest really
Cancer really is a bastard

I'm so sorry Flowers

I hope you take some comfort in knowing you did a great think by rescuing her, and by doing the kindest thing by her at the end

I am so sorry. We lost our lab to cancer. It really is a bastard.

You gave her everything she needed and more. Flowers

Oh OP, so sorry to hear that.

So hard to lose a beloved pet. Flowers

So so sorry, it's awful to have to take the decision and you must be missing her so much.

But you gave her a wonderful second part to her life, full of love, cuddles, reciprocity. That's the most important thing.

Flippetydip · 09/10/2017 14:40

So sorry for you. Horrible horrible time for you.

Aliiiii · 09/10/2017 15:39

Thank you all for your kind comments

She lived a fantastic life with us for 5 years, she was 9 so not a bad age for a bulldog
I think that I’m still trying to process it all, it all happened so quickly

Oh I'm so sorry . We lost one of our lovely hounds to cancer , and like you we had very little warning either . You gave her a lovely life , and if there can ever be such a thing , a comfortable death . You were the best owner she could have had, and I'll bet she knew it too .

So sorry for your loss .

Giraffey1 · 09/10/2017 16:35

So sorry - but so glad she had a good life with you x

Bubble2bubble · 09/10/2017 17:54

So sorry :(
Such a tough decision to have to make, but you know you have done the best for her Flowers

So sorry. Our old spaniel died of cancer too. We faffed around for a week treating him for liver disease when the vet finally decided to xray him and discovered that his liver was one big tumour. Wasn’t much we could do after that. Cancer is indeed a bastard. Took both my parents too. Flowers

I'm so sorry for your loss Sad. I lost my cat to cancer at 18 years and while we had longer tongetnour heads around it we only had two days notice of her needing to be PTS. It's really shit. I now have two rescue cats and a dog and I'm thinking wtf have I done. It's the price we pay for the joy they bring us.

Be kind to yourself today Flowers.
