Worried sick about my dog

My dog is prone to lumps and bumps and has had a couple excised before with no problem. Last week she developed horrid sores on her back - red and bleeding but no pus. Took her to the vet on Saturday who said he had no idea what was wrong with her, did full bloods which all came back normal and offered no other advice other than give her a steroid injection. This is a well established vets' practice which we have used for years. Obviously he had to shave her everywhere she has these sores/spots and she looks awful! Anyway, the sores on her back are healing well enough although the little lumps are still there. However, she has one of these horrid things on her side which is bleeding a lot and then heals over for a while. I think she is scratching at it as it itches but it just looks so horrible. She has dried blood all around the wound which is still oozing today. She is quite normal in all other ways, eating and behaving as normal.

Where she has been lying down there are blood spots on the carpets and rugs and also along the sofas and bed base where she has rubbed along. I am feeling very anxious about her even though the vet said she would be OK - and to cap it all I am going on holiday at the weekend with a friend staying in the house to look after her.

Does anyone have any experience of this or advise on what to do (not least best way to clean carpets, etc.!).

Don't know, sorry, but couldn't read and run. Preseumably he's tested for allergies?
