Recently we started leaving our dog's crate door open in the night as when we leave him alone in the house we don't lock him in the crate anymore but give him free reign in the kitchen. He will now happily sleep/hang out in the crate during the day (when he was locked in it he only ever went in it at night).
Anyway, the last two nights we've come down to a poo in the kitchen. The first night (where it looked like he'd been desperate and we felt awful) but last night it was just a tiny poo... he'd had a good walk in the evening and done his stuff and was only shut in the kitchen between 10:45 and 5:45.
I know if we lock the crate again it'll stop but I'd like to be confident he's housetrained and want to know how to stop it...
