Dog started barking at people

Help! My 4 year old female lab has suddenly started barking at people on walks. I had noticed that she had become 'jumpy' at loud noises but now has graduated to barking at random people. She has always been so friendly, I am very confused. Any advice?

I thought you were going to say 8 month old puppy which would be a fairly common stage they go through. But the fact your Lab is 4yo and suddenly acting in this way is a bit more concerning. Have you had a vet check? Just thinking it could be health related and if she's feeeling pain anywhere it could be her way of saying "back off, please don't touch me" anticipating feeling uncomfortable.
