I have a 2 year old lab and we've had many beds already but I now feel he is past the destroying stage and want to get him a decent bed that will last! It has to be washable - but what would you all recommend?? He's fairly big but I'm open to all suggestions!! Many thanks in advance!

I bought mine from wolfybeds and he loves it. They also do lovely fleecy blankets which I use to minimise washing (when he's actually in it and not on the sofa of course Grin)

They look great - are the actual beds washable? I've tried putting blankets on his current bed and he pulls them all out....🙄

A bed that actually fits a wolfhound! I'm impressed! I've been looking at hi k9 beds. Means I can chuck a washable vet fleece over it. At the moment she has a single bed mattress.

Ours is from Joules. Fully washable. Looks as good today as when I bought it 12 months ago.

Tuffies - they are brilliant and made in Scotland. Our lab has both a mattress bed from them with a washable cover and a fleece cover which fits her plastic dog bed. Quality is very good, they are not cheap but definitely long lasting. My dog sheds a lot and I wash them regularly - plus the mattress bed can be washed down outside with the garden hose.

boat Grin you know what I mean!

We've got an orvis bed, pricey but well worth it

Phillipa12 · 03/09/2017 19:27

I second tuffies, i have owned their indestructable dog bed as has a friend, oh it works, and my dog has chewed through a wall, so any bed by them will be well worth the money!

BLUEsNewSpringWatch · 03/09/2017 20:29

my dog has chewed through a wall
ShockShockShockShockShockShock That is a good testament to tuffies though.

I really want a Tuffies waterproof nest, I just can't afford one yet. I paid £100 for the bed they have now but the sides have collapsed and it's a nightmare to take the cover off to wash it and put it back on again.

SilverLining · 03/09/2017 22:13

A wall????! Jeez!!!! Thanks for the other tips - I'm investigating now....

Wolfie pup ate through a wall too. And started on the dishwasher and the skirting board and the kitchen cupboard and the fridge oh and us!
Don't miss the teething stage! Grin

We had a wolfybed, looks great, relatively cheap and looked great when it arrived. Within 9-10 months was a lumpy mess when the filler clumped together. Replaced with an Orvis memory foam bed (in a sale) which is as good as new 2 years on.
