I posted in this board many years ago about my aggressive Lhasa Apso. It was getting to the point where I dreaded the groomer coming incase he bit her. Well a few years down the line and he's still with us. He's 15 now and has a back catalogue of health issues. Luxating patellas, epilepsy, etc, etc. He's really declining now and think his hearing is almost totally gone. His eyesight is pretty poor too and the aggression has just got worse. We've had to change from a harness to an over the head slip on lead as he will snap when trying to remove his harness. I can't brush him or really attend to basic care, cleaning eyes, bathing etc for fear of him snapping. This weekend he has developed the most foul odour which I strongly suspect is an ear infection. He's shaking his head and agitated when awake but is spending most of the day asleep - this is not at all like him. I'm going to the vets shortly with him but with a heavy heart as I think it may be time to make that call that none of us want to make. I don't know what I'm looking for on here but I just feel incredibly guilty for even thinking this. Any thoughts, advice or words of wisdom?

Sorry to hear this. It doesn't sound like he's having much quality of life. The vet will arise you but don't feel guilty. Flowers

I'm sorry to hear this Op. How did you get on at the vets? Hopefully it was just an easy to cure ear infection (and that'd make me grumpy!).

15 is a really good age but if the worst has happened, I'm sorry.

Thanks for your replies. He's gone - I made the call and it was awful.

So sorry. My heart goes out to you. I am in a similar position with my 14yo King Charles cavalier. So hard to know when is the exact right time but sounds as if you got it right Flowers
