What breed of dog would be compatible with a beagle?

Hi, we are considering getting a second dog. We currently have a 7 year old beagle with a strong personality, and a playful character, any suggestions on a medium sized breed, we were thinking a cockapoo,please does anyone have any advise or recommendations?

What about another beagle? I love them although couldn't have another one

My friend with a beagle has a Golden Retriever as well.
Says The Goldie is a breeze in comparison

A welsh terrier or any terrier really. Strong sassy personalities that won't get ruled by a beagle. I absolutely love terriers and find mine to be the perfect family dog.

Patterdale terrier / Irish terrier if you want something small a JRT or border .
