Days out with dogs and kids

Have been away for the first couple of weeks of the summer holidays but we are now back for the remaining 3. I'm after ideas for some good days out in Kent or Essex suitable for an 11 and 13 year old but where I can also take our puppy. I have Hever Castle on the list. I know he can't go in the castle only the grounds but that is ok. Any other suggestions? He is good off lead but I know many places will require him to be on a lead and that is not a problem.

Most English heritage places will let dogs in , although obviously not in buildings , but yours are big enough to take it in turns / go in together whist someone waits outside with dog . Battle Abbey is a good walk and lots of outside bits as is Dover Castle . Tilbury fort is interesting but probably only an hour or two . Dumpton Gap beach near Broadstairs is dog friendly and has a nice cafe . West gate Bay near Margate has a nice promenade where you could set up with the dog whilst the dc are on the beach , Minnis Bay has a tidal pool at one end that is excellent for crabbing .
