Puppy has broken teeth

I noticed last night that my 13 week old pup has broken her canines. One is missing a bit from the bottom and the other is jagged and has a crack up to the gum line. Going to call the vets but looking for some words of wisdom as to what to expect, in the mean time please.

Forgot to say, pup is totally fine, eating, playing and so on, no signs of discomfort.

She will lose those puppy teeth in a few weeks, so don't worry about them unless they are giving her pain.

Thank you. I was hoping that was the case. I have sent the vet a message and photos so they can let me know if we need an appointment. I am so anxious about everything with her!

Phew, the vet replied saying not to worry and that they will have a check of them next time we are in (in just over a week). I can stop fretting!

Thank you.

I had the exact same fear with our puppy until I realised it was the puppy teeth coming loose and falling out Smile

She still seems fine so I am more relaxed than when I first noticed. Thanks Smile

I was surprised how early they fell out, I guess I thought it would be 6 months or so - not sure how I got that idea, just random idea I had. So when they were all out by 3-4 months and adult teeth grown in, I was bit surprised.

Jenny70 me too I thought they dropped out much later than they did. OP mine used to grind his puppy teeth on bricks in the garden so he had a few stumpy ones but it didn't matter as they soon fell out replaced by much larger and scarier adult teeth (and fortunately he stopped grinding them on bricks).

One of the broken teeth fell out this morning, the split one that was worrying me the most. I thought around 6 months too but glad that I was wrong Grin thank you.

When they lose puppy teeth seems to depend on size. Toy dogs are mostly finished growing at Six months and lose their baby teeth earlier than big breeds which aren't mature until two years old.
