Dog killed Dog

My Yorkshire Terrier was killed back in June 2017 by a grey Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Richmond Park at 3:00pm. The owner would not destroy it after this senseless and vicious attack.

I took legal action to get it put down so it wouldn't kill another innocent animal or potentially a human ever again!

The owner pleaded guilty and the result was a nominal fine and pretty much a slap on the wrist. To say I am devastated by this result would be an understatement. I lost a member of my family not just a dog.

I would like to make anyone who lives nearby the park aware as it is still walking around our streets. It has been banned by the Richmond Park police but how they intend to enforce that I'm not sure.

Please pass this on to any dog owner in the area to be cautious and aware, it is the first time a dog has killed another dog in Richmond Park lets hope it is the last!

Thank you.

Sorry to hear of your loss, it's terribly sad to hear and I'm glad you posted to make others aware if they live in the area.
My jack Russell got attack by a staff several years ago and it still haunts me, I've no problem with Staff's however they are dangerous and powerful dogs, in the wrong owners hands they are weapons.
How very sad you lost your dog to such awful circumstances. Flowers

Did they not make an order for the dog to at least be muzzled in public ? Sorry for your loss .

Justhadmyhaircut · 24/07/2017 16:17

Were the local paper informed?

BiteyShark · 24/07/2017 16:23

Oh OP that is awful and so sorry for you and your poor beloved dog Flowers

Oh that's terrible. I am sorry.
Someone my brother knows has a (horrible) staffy cross which killed a sausage dog. He has to keep the dog muzzled in public and on a lead as well. Was no similar order made in this case?
