Hair dye on dog

I need to emphasise what a huge accident this was, I do NOT agree within dying dogs fur.

My daughted wanted pink hair for the holidays, we got the Schwarzkopf 3 washes temporary pink hairspray, as I was drying her hair the dog curled up by my feet and has pink splodges on him where it's dripped.

He has white fur so it shows up really obvious, I can't find much online about issues/symptoms just lots of articles stating its cruel and animals aren't fashion accessories
So has this happened to anyone?
What do I need to do if anything next??
I should say he isn't licking himself at all and right now my only concern is, is this whoops what a numpty moment or oh crap what have I done

I would laugh and give him a bath. Poor thing, he must look daftGrin

TripTrap Honestly he looks ridiculous.
I don't think I panicked this much when my kids did stupid things as babies/toddlers but this dog has me on tenterhooks, he's so sweet and loving and trusting. I don't want to risk hurt him through my stupidity :/

Our Groomer got in touch - I may have panicked and called a few people in-between asking on here and googling.
She's told me not to panic and keep an eye on his skin, if it looks like it's irritating she'll get him in for a bath using a sensitive shampoo.

Since then a couple of friends have reassured me of stories of their dogs getting covered in paint and gloss when decorating so I'm not feeling like the worst dog owner ever, just the worst dog owner today!

I would love to dye my dog pink if there was no harm to her at all

Dogs are colour blind so she wouldn't give a toss

From you picture it look like such a small amount that I don't think I'd be too worried if I were you. As your groomer said, all you can do is keep an eye on him. Have you given him a bath to see if some of it will come out?

Have to say he does not look pleased. :)

No advice, OP, but he's adorable. I love how reproachfully he's looking at you, clearly not happy about having his fur dyed pink!
My siblings sprayed one of our dogs green when we were little... He was fine though.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 22/07/2017 12:41

Oh, he's a cutie!

We sprayed the cat green on crazy hair day at school., nosey beast walked through the line of fire and had one green side.

Vet said she would be fine and to wipe her down every so often till it's off

We dog sit for a pup that had a dye patch on her back, it happens. Hers hasn't disappeared yet months later but then she has coarse hair and it was a drop of permanent dye, I think your pup looks to have smoother locks and with it being more of a wash out one it won't last as long. I'm sure all will be fine, stop beating yourself Wink

We've had a full weekend of brushing him and it has faded a lot - He's also been rained on during every walk which has helped!!
I did insist on him wearing his doggy cam harness and camera on the Saturday when out and about as it covered the worst of the pink :)

On the bright side, he's still naughty and still curls up at my feet

We've got a cat with a white nose after she put her nose in the bin and found the glove ha ! She's had it months so I guess that's how she will stay lol . She's tabby with a white nose lol

Sorry but lol. The expression on him looks as if he is saying "This is not what I ordered".

Will most likely be fine.
