What is wrong with my dog?

Hi all,

This is my lovely tempered, sweet natured pooch who has never given us any grief or cause for concern. He is wonderful with my three young children and as dopey as anything.

However, we have recently relocated back to the uk from the Middle East. He spent 5 weeks with a lovely family and their two dogs (they had no problems with him) and then he flew to join us about 6 weeks ago.

He is loving the uk. The walks, the freedom and the beaches.

However in the last 48 hours he has become really agressive towards other dogs. He attacked my sil dog yesterday and end up catching her foot in the process. We put it down to her bringing her dog to our house.

Then today we went for a walk and meet a friend and her dog. My dog literally went for him the moment he saw him Sad we kept them apart and upon leaving they got too close and my dog went for him again. Unfortunately my 2 year old was in the same space and got his leg caught.

My husband is away working and I'm not sure if pooch thinks he is the alpha male and trying to show who is boss? But why only in the last 48 hours?

Any advice?

I'd take him to the vet and check he's not in pain anywhere

And if not they will recommend medication to calm him - he might be stressed with so much change?

Would the stress only be showing now though?

I will call the vets and try to get an urgent appointment. He is still being super lovely with the kids but I'm on tenderhooks
