How to protect his paws from his licking.

I noticed my dog was walking funny yesterday, and this afternoon I noticed a weird soft slug like lump between his toes. I've got an appointment with the vet tomorrow morning, but until them I need to prevent him licking and chewing his poors. I put socks on the poor bugger, he then went into another and came back in 5 minutes later with no socks on.

While I'm awake I feel I can stop in the act but I know the minute I'm asleep he will be up all night chewing his feet, and while his appointment is pretty early in the morning I think he can do a lot of damage until then. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect his feet until tomorrow?

Paws not poors.

Do you have Elastoplast or duct tape to put around the top of the sock? Half on the sock and half on the dog's coat. If he has longer hair, put a few wisps into the tape iykwim to keep the sock /tape on.

I did put tape around the socks and he still got them off - probably because I was too scared to put them on too tight.

Anyways I went to vet, it's allergies and they gave him a cone. He's not happy.
