Sticky eye

The last day or so my 9 month pup has had a "sleepy" eye on and off. The eye itself doesn't seem red or inflamed and the "sleep" isn't a horrid colour that would suggest infection.
At the moment I'm bathing with cooked boiled water. At what point do we go to the vet?
First time dog owner thanks you!

My nine month old has had several eye infections that start the way you describe. I'm also a first time dog owner and I suggest a trip to the vet. One of her infections was an ulcer and they can get nasty. Hope it clears soon.

It's always worth erring on the side of caution with eyes and getting them checked out sooner rather than later.

Thanks. Looks ok at the moment. She's quite hairy round the eyes and it has been windy so wondered if it was irritation. Doesn't look like an infection but there's always the threat of a grass seed or something in there. I'm such a worrier!

I put a message on your other thread re wolf tucker and itchy skin. Our pup always had obvious sleepy discharge which I wiped away most mornings...point being that several months on a different better quality diet rather than middle of the road kibble and I can't remember the last time I scraped the sleepy snot away! Better check it's not an infection though.
