I'm a bit over people names for dogs, so would go for a traditional doggy one like Scruff.

Thanks great suggestions. Alvin has won the kids over, DH less keen. All the man names are pretty funny. We were told he's mini-pinscher mixed, having looked at yorkie puppy pics I'm thinking he has some yorkie in him for sure.

I'll try and get some more pictures but he doesn't stay very still!

WhyOhWine that's brilliant, DH refuses to call him anything that he'll feel stupid calling out, he's also foreign so his accent can make a lot of English names sound strange, he wants to call him "puppy" original . Teen DS is a tough one, vetoed most names but doesn't make suggestions.
