Dog brush/comb recommendations for removing sticky buds

I have a rescue springer spaniel. Can anyone recommend a good brush or comb that will deal with the sticky buds he seems to regularly pick up.

He loves being brushed but none of his brushes seem to remove the sticky buds very well and I end up spending what seems like hours picking them out one by one, only to find more when I'm stroking him later on.

Any recommendations gratefully received.

I use a metal comb with rotating pins they are great, you will ask yourself why not sooner!! on my very long haired dogs ... you should be able to get one from any popular internet site like eBay.
