I have a shitzu, norfolk terrier, miniature schnauzer cross 9 month old puppy. She is very sweet, but after 'nearly' mastering house training she still poos (and sometimes wees) in the house. She seems to think it's ok inside and outside. I spent weeks taking her outside regularly, using a word, rewarding her, not rewarding her and everything I believe I should. If it is relevant we have an older dog who is male and has always been very easy. Also if I crate her, she just barks so that's not an option. Does anyone have any advice?

My only advice is time and patience - you have a few stubborn breeds mixed in together there so she probably thinks she knows a lot better than you!

I also think some breeds are just more willing than others - gundogs no problem at all but everyone I know with a hound, terrier, utility so forth has had to put a lot more effort in.

I'm personally not a fan of puppy pads so if you have hard flooring and can bear the cleaning then maybe you could go without those. Or if she's been trained to use one then move it outside the back door for a bit?

Hopefully the warmer weather will encourage her outside more anyway!
