So recently found out I am pregnant (this is key) sanchezdog has always been allowed on the sofa however is quite heavy and particularly likes to think she can fit on my lap still. This is fine except when both me and DP are both on the sofa as she jumps literally straight onto me. I won't lie it's the the best she's heavy and it's not exactly comfy when she does it.

Looking forward to the future I decided the jumping on me could no longer go on, if DP is not sitting down she will jump next to me on the sofa it is only when he's there she aims for me. I bought her a nice new dog beg to go in the living room, so when me and DP are sitting in the lounge she has somewhere to sit/lie down. It arrived today and she's straight in there, not even a glance in my direction before she started snoring! I feel so rejected! I wanted her to gradually get used to going in there over the next few months, instead she's ditched me without a second thought!

Grin sorry - nothing else to add!! That's funny!

I always get morning snuggles, today I got ditched so she could sunbathe!!! I'm so hurt!

that happened to me too, but I don't really mind, DDog looks so happy basking. He's lying across my bed now, I need to take him down to his own.

I'm sure you can always bribe persuade yours back beside you on the sofa, OP, and it's a good thing the bed is approved of for your future comfort. Oh, and congratulations!Flowers

Get your dejection but for me, a settled dog is a happy dog.

She came back for a cuddle later, which cheered me up but I'm glad she likes it. It'll make things much easier in the future.

Thank you Errol, she's very much our baby and completely spoilt so we're going to try and stop some of the bad habits now rather than when we have to so it's not all such a massive shock later on. The sofa one is me I love sofa cuddles... sleeping on the bed is DP fault from when I work nights, not looking forward to that trying to stop one!

Random it's not nice... I don't want to force my love on her but will if necessary! Tbf she's my shadow when I'm at home I can't get rid of her for a moments peace lol

I don't mind too much - absolutely a calm settled DDog is the greatest was just a surprise tbh Grin

BellaGoth · 04/06/2017 09:28

Dogs are very intuitive, perhaps she's realised she needs to take care at the moment. I'm sure she'll be back to bouncing on you once the baby has arrived!

Incidentally, what bed did you get? I'm looking for something comfy for my girl.

Sanchezwasntdirty · 04/06/2017 12:15

Bella she knows something's a miss, she's been a right sulk recently... this last week she's also decided that the top end of the kitchen is terrifying so we've had to move her food and bed down by the kitchen door or she refused to eat anything lol. I got it off eBay it's actually a really lovely bed cream and fluffy inside with high sides which she likes so she can rest her head on them.

She's probably waiting until she's wet and muddy to jump back on the sofa Grin
