We are a mess!

Can someone knock some sense into us? We are being totally ridiculous.

Lovely GinDog is due in for castration on Thursday morning and we are both shitting it that something's going to go wrong. He's five years old now which makes us worry he's more at risk.

I booked him in this morning, got off the phone and started to well up when I looked at him. DP has come home and asked if we can have him on the bed for the next two nights incase he doesn't make it. I've started thinking about giving him a lovely meal tomorrow.

It's like he's on bloody death row! It's a procedure these vets do constantly - why are we being so wet about it all?!

There's a lot of standing around with tail between legs!

He's had a drink and some food since I've given him a bit of collar-free time, and is snoozing at my feet now. He was breathing really weirdly earlier and I was really worried, but then I realised he was actually whining but with a lost voice! Poor little mite. He's stopped that now though.

Op, how is he today? He looks gorgeous and would be a great match for mine!

He's okay today - having a lazy day and seems okay about it! We did feel like we had a newborn last night though. He was whining all night because he couldn't get comfortable, so we made up a bed for him next to our bed. That worked for a while but then he kept downing water from his bowl so was whining for a wee at 5am. I let him out and then realised DP hadn't closed the gate last night and by the time id run upstairs for my dressing gown, GinDog had made it right down the end of the garden and onto the other side of the road! He hates going to the loo in his own garden though, so I caught him having the worlds longest wee on a lamppost. He's been fine since then! Just lots of sleeping.

What colour lab is your girl Tatty?

Great news, I'm pleased he's recovering well and I bet you're relieved!

She's black.... here she is Grin (I only need the slightest excuse to put her up here!)
