Barking

Next doors dog barks from 5.30am onwards 7 days a week. I went around a few times after 11pm in my nightie saying that I couldn't sleep this quelled it a bit, but was woken at 2.41am this morning. In fairness it used to bark almost continuously 24/7, but think my 11pm + visits (several of them!) she got fed up and has tried a bit i.e. not 24/7. I'm arthritic have trouble sleeping and this has got to point that it's impacting myself and family-Mum to 4

I think I'd be ringing the council regarding noise nuisance.

Thanks Figaro, but I'm not to keen on going down the official path, hopefully not yet!

Perhaps the RSPCA as well. It's nasty to leave a dog barking like that.

BlueKarou · 30/05/2017 16:13

Don't think there's much you can do other than asking them to do something about it. The only next step is to call the council who will likely ask you to start keeping a diary of how often you can hear the barking.

Is it a young dog? When I moved house a couple of years ago my new next door neighbours had a very barky young lab who would bark all the way through some nights. She eventually grew out of it and now I don't hear her so much unless they're coming and going.

RSPCA won't care.
If you have already had a word then the owners clearly don't care.
Noise complaint time.

Thank you all. Dog is about 4 years old now, so don't think it's that it's to do with him being young. I have been logging it sometimes.

Straycats · 30/05/2017 18:43

PS have changed my user name to straycats, just for added confusion.

goodgirl250 · 01/06/2017 18:57

try a clicker tell the dog to stop barking as soon as they stop click and immediate treat only cheap to buy online or petshop

Wolfiefan · 01/06/2017 18:59

No don't try and clicker train a dog that isn't yours. You can't be feeding it either! Shock

goodgirl250 · 01/06/2017 18:59

arrr smeone elses dog rite get a high frequency gadget on line press and the sound which humans cant hear stops them frm barking

SparklingRaspberry · 01/06/2017 21:40

Don't do the high pitch thing! Not all dogs respond to them the same. It drives some dogs mad which may cause this dog to bark even more
