We've called him shadow. Except since he's been here he's not eaten. We've tried chicken, hotdogs and all other manner of treats to tempt him and he wouldn't take them... until my son dropped some pancake and he scoffed it. So now we're wondering if he should be called pancake?

Or any other suggestions

I think he looks like a Fergus. But pancake is great too! Grin

TwitterQueen1 · 29/05/2017 17:31

Waffle - it's easier to say than pancake!

givemethecake · 29/05/2017 17:33

OMG that puppy is soooo cute! 😁

He's a little anxious. Dogs often don't easy when they're anxious. He'll settle. He's very cute!

TwitterQueen1 · 29/05/2017 17:54

Dogs' names should ideally start with a hard consonant and be 2 syllables (max impact when calling them).

He doesn't look like a shadow to me. How about Dusty? (as in dustbin - eating food off the floor...)

NoFucksImAQueen · 29/05/2017 18:38

He acts like a shadow though, he walks so close behind me he keeps knocking into me 😄

I like TwitterQueens first suggestion - Waffle!

WhyOhWine · 29/05/2017 18:44

I like pancake

Flumplet · 29/05/2017 18:45

Much prefer Pancake to shadow. Pancake or Dave.

Flumplet · 29/05/2017 18:45

...and DaVID when he's in big trouble.

olliegarchy99 · 29/05/2017 18:51

Simba - he is the colour of a lion
Teddy - he looks sort of teddy like
Could you call him in the park when he is named pancake!

NoFucksImAQueen · 30/05/2017 12:38

Simba is my nickname lol so I can't call him that. Yeah I wouldn't mind shouting pancake, one foster dog was called reggie!

Not much love for shadow, I'm surprised. Guess mumsnet isn't a fan of homeward bound. It's one of my favourite films.

Nimrod (rejected by my dd for her new lurcher pup) so passing it on!

FedUpTiredWornOut · 30/05/2017 12:45

Freddie

DumbledoresArmy · 30/05/2017 12:47

Can't call a dog like that pancake!
He needs a solid name like:
Mac
Max
Buddy
Marley

NoFucksImAQueen · 30/05/2017 17:11

Marley makes me think of the film and I don't want to jinx him being like that dog.
Max is what we would have called DD is she'd been a boy and buddy is what every American seems to call their goldies. However I do like your suggestions and the idea of a solid name

If I ever get to name another dog it will be Johan Sebastian Bark.

Flumplet · 30/05/2017 21:20

Go with Dave.

Gingerbreadmam · 30/05/2017 21:25

flip. or dave. goggleboxers have a dog called dave, proper makes me laugh!

3luckystars · 30/05/2017 21:26

Batter?

cabbage67 · 30/05/2017 21:33

Ralph

EllaNB · 30/05/2017 21:40

Shadow is a lovely name, home wood bound is also one of my favourite films.

I had a golden retriever called Bailey growing up, sadly we lost him last year at the age of 13. He was the most lovely natured dog so I would definitely recommend that name xx

Duploprincess · 30/05/2017 21:48

Pudding

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 30/05/2017 21:51

Pancake! So cute.
