Skin colour change

Our wire-haired jrt used to have a plain pink my/ groin where it wasn't hairy. Then a few months ago he developed some freckles. These have spread into a Rorschach's inkspot over most of the area,

Do I need to worry?

He's rising 5, btw.

When my dog was a puppy, the skin we could see there went from creamy colour to kinda blackish, like hes got ink off a newspaper. Took him to vet. They didnt really know, assumed it was because he's half Chinese crested powder puff and they can have coloured skin. He's been fine with it. I think he's cream most of the time... maybe it's like getting a tan, he goes darker... anyway, he'll be 9 soon and he's not had any problems with it...
