Gift to welcome a friends new dog

I've only ever had cats so no idea of a dogs needs. My two friends have just been approved for a rescue dog and they're incredibly excited as it's their first pet together.

We had a baby a year ago and they were beyond lovely, bought her some really thoughtful gifts and paid lots of attention. I'm not sure if kids are on their agenda, and whilst not the same, this feels like a big deal, so we'd like to buy the dog a welcome present.

Any smart ideas?

A pet throw or blanket - you can't have too many of them, so it doesn't matter if they've already got one or receive another.

Aww, that sounds a lovely idea. Flowers

Maybe a little treat parcel. So like a toy, some treats, some poo bags.

Or if they know the name something with that? A blanket or bowl.

We have struggled with infertility for years and people acknowledging my dogs makes me Smile.

I'm trying to think of cool things we have bought. I find a dog walking belt quite handy. So you can attach the lead to it, it has a pouch for car keys, treats, bags phone etc. Means you can be hands free.

Take a wander round somewhere like pets at home and I'm sure you will see something you like.

Lovely thing to do, very touching for the new owners :), I think a toy goes down well and maybe some dog treats.

A nice Doggy Towel, box of poo bags (TK Max do nice ones), posh doggy treats?

My friend gave me some lovely toys for my new puppy. It's a sweet thing to do and I really appreciated it.
