Carrots for teething?

I've read in various places about giving puppies frozen carrots for teething. Can I freeze whole raw carrots, or do they need to be cooked first?
We're picking up our cocker puppy in 3 weeks, so expect lots more questions as I think of them!!

My springer love love lives carrots. I never bothered freezing them, just gave them raw and cold from the fridge. When she was little they lasted ages wth her tiny little teeth and were good for calming her down and getting her to be still... As an older puppy, she gets very excited every time we open the fridge.....

Still give our boy a frozen carrot, great to cool down with on a hot day.
If you have a kong and feed dry food:

Stuff small open end of kong with a little cheese to seal.
In the big hole, pop dry food.
Stand Kong in a cup and fill with boiling water to soften food.
When food swells and is cool. Freeze.
