Dog friendly floor covering

Hi we have recently moved house and our 8 year old arthritic black lab is struggling to get up or walk easily on the flooring which is a combination of wood laminate and ceramic tiles in cram -not good for hiding muddy paw marks!!
What do you find is most dog friendly for floors? We're thinking of carpets in the living room and bedrooms neutral coloured, and karndean type flooring in the kitchen dining area
Whatever we do It needs to be non slip and easily cleaned- muddy paws and easy to get the dog hairs off it.

Any ideas before we hit the carpet shops?

Tiles In cream (not cram)!!

We have carpets in the lounges and bedrooms , our hallway is wood and despite putting a carpet runner down my dog still treats it like a skid pan as he slides around the corners / doors . We looked at Karndean for our hall when we did it last year but were put off by it not being DIY friendly as DH likes to do his own flooring where possible ( he doesn't lay large carpets but does wood floors / tiles etc) .

My old lab has got Pawz Dog Boots, they look a bit silly, like Mr. Men feet but they work really well at keeping him stable, we just use them on him back feet mostly to support his hips.

Then you can get any floor you like.

If you're changing your floor anyway I will say any texture really helps. I have a laminate that my dog doesn't struggle on quite so much because it has a grain, whereas he slips all over the place on the polished wood.

We have Karndean all through downstairs (wood effect apart from the kitchen which looks like slate tiles). The dogs run round on it with no problems, and it is just so easy to keep clean
