Possible stupid question - insurance

Long story short my dog has to go for an op to remove a snapped tooth. My insurance documents (supposedly "superior" coverage) say they pay out for accident, injury, disease ect.
In the section of things they don't pay out for they've included tooth and gum aswell as routine stuff eg vaccines and neuturing (which is fair enough). Does this mean they don't pay out for routine dog dentistry or they don't cover any sort of tooth issue even if it's accident or injury?
Probably a stupid question but I've never had to claim on the insurance and with me paying for "superior" I stupidly thought I'd be fully covered

Only way to know for sure is to contact the claims team and ask outright but my instinct would be that it wont be covered.

It sounds like they won't pay out. Pet insurance try to slither out of everything in my experience, never mind something that they have stated won't be covered i.e. 'Tooth and gum'

In general, a fractured tooth would be covered as this is accidental injury rather than dental disease. The only way to be sure is to contact your insurers though.

If it's Animal Friends they won't cover - from bitter experience. The majority of the rest will cover accidental injury but not routine cleaning/gum disease.
