Our 15 year old samoyed's legs are giving out. Everytime she stands up she collapses. She's managed to walk to the kitchen but that's it. Shes still eating and drinking and is happy enough in herself. This has happened for 2 days. She has an appointment to be PTS at 6.30 but my heart is breaking. What if she's not ready to go :(

It takes a lot of love to find the strength to let her go. Flowers for you.

I said goodbye to my dear boy in very similar circumstances last November. I still have moments of anguish when I question the timing of my decision but it's only because I love and miss him so, so much. Oh for one more hour with him. But I know, in my heart of hearts, it would never be enough and extra time would only have been for my benefit, not for his. Much love to you on this sad day Flowers

You have no regrets wishes, only happy memories and the gladness that you did what you could and she didn't suffer. You can't do any more for her than that. Flowers

In tears reading this. I can't imagine how you are feeling. It sounds like you have her a wonderful life filled with love.
Hold on to those memories. Thinking of you.

I'm so sorry. I had to have my old Briard pts in October, he was losing the ability to walk as well. It broke my heart and still does, but I am relieved for him that he still had some dignity left at the end and we didn't leave it longer for a false hope. He would have been very distressed by being unable to walk completely. I also have a young samoyed cross so I know what amazing smiley personalities they are, I'm sure your girl was an absolute darling. You did the right thing for her. Incredibly hard for you but I'm sure she deserved no less than going out happy and loved before she was really suffering. It's what we'd all choose if we could. Thinking of you.
