To not let her on the sofa?

She's a rescue labrador and clearly been allowed on the sofa where she's been before. We have a white leather sofa and she desperately wants to come up- I get those sad eyes, a paw and a head tilt every evening.

Do you let your dogs on the sofa?

We let our dog on the sofa. We put throws on the sofa. :)

But if you don't want the dog on the sofa, don't let her up. Be strong! I know plenty of people who don't let their dogs up (or in carpeted rooms!!!)

Nope, our dog is not allowed on the sofa, never has been allowed and never will be. We all love her to pieces and she's very much part of the family but she's a dog. She has a huge comfy bed in the dining room and has full run of the dining room, kitchen and back garden. She comes in the front room in the evening when the kids go to bed but lies on the rug. Often she will lie there for half an hour or so then go back to her bed, she just prefers it. We spend quite a lot if time in the dining room during the morning/afternoon as that's where we eat and the kids do crafts etc so think she's quite happy there.

Agree with pp, smell the dogs bed then decide. I've been in some houses and the smell of dog is extremely strong but they don't realise as they're used to it. Our do also never goes upstairs, at all. The few times I want her to so I can give her a bath she hates it and has to be carried down as she gets scared!

Never allowed it before current dog (DH's first) but he's not very good at disciplining animals (or DCs Wink) so dog assumes it can sit on sofa with him. He claims it's too hard to move a stubborn/comfy/sad/ devoted/65kg Great Dane. I can move it with a look....and I would mind it less if I wasn't the one who ends up cleaning the sofa.DH obviously nose blind and magically remains dog hair free. He is lovely tho (DH) so not really a thing

We let ours on the couch, but we bought huge throws off amazon to cover it. It's white and she gets a bit wet and mucky on walks, even after she's dried off she can still leave paw prints. She's a wee midden but we love her!

Not in our house-no dogs on sofas or up the stairs. She's a perfectly happy soul with beds in every room which she drags next to the radiators.

Love all these pictures of spotless clean dogs on the sofa!
Ask your self, would you let this dog on your cream sofa?

Nope. We have two rescue dogs and neither are allowed on sofa. Dog 2 sneaks on when we're out of the room but knows he's in trouble as when we walk in he jumps off, slicks his ears back and shows us his willy! I don't tell him off, don't need to. He knows. Unfortunately over Xmas we went away and relatives allowed him onto their sofa... when we got home he became a jerk trying to climb on and even waking DH up at 2am to get into the lounge to get onto the sofa. Not fun.

Those big sad eyes, and head tilt would do me and I could not resist. I don't own a dog, but I would allow it on the sofa. Our sofa is old and smelly anyway (2 DC potty training), trying to get the smell of wee and poo off, it seems to have seeped into the fabric.

I love all these dogs NOT on the sofa Grin

Unborn dog isn't only because she's quite strong (Staffy cross) and we have a toddler DD.

I know it's not a, not on the sofa photo but I didn't want to leave her out Smile

No bubble I'm sure it doesn't count especially as you're supposed to let sleeping dogs lie...

No our dog isn't allowed on the sofa or the bed, although she is allowed upstairs. She sleeps either on her bed or on a big squishy rug on the office as DH works. She has no interest in sofa or bed. Weirdo Grin
