Bravecto question......

my 15 week old pup was prescribed this today (he weighs 5.7kg). There is nothing on the leaflet regarding what age this can be taken from. However, a quick google suggests it's not 100% effective for 12 weeks for pups under 6months.

Are there any vets about who could advise before I go back to my practice to query this? Just interested really in the efficacy of the medicine.

Thanks

I'm no vet but thought that dogs had to be 6 months of age to have Bravecto happy to be corrected though

Bravecto website states 6 month of age

Thank you all for your replies. I can only find info that suggests it is suitable from 6months in the US sires. However the contraindication leaflet that came with the chewable tablet did not state any ages it was to be used for or not used for. Looks like it may be done on weight-I'll query it with the practice.

I've read around the risks - and as long as it suitable for his age I'm happy with the level of risk it presents.

Hi Midnight. My vet prescribed my pup bravecto at three months as she had fleas and advocate didn't work. This did work, pup was a little bit sick but that was all. I read up on it afterwards and scared myself witless, not sure I would use it again but that's another thread. Your vet should put your mind at rest.
