He strolled in with our two year old & a bag of shopping, then said "find somewhere to put this" and pulled out our newly christened Bruno nn brew. He is so tiny!!

Last night was our first night, so round 2 tonight WaitrosePigeon he has his own crate (before anyone jumps on me it was left open, with one of the blankets that was taken from where he'd been with mum and siblings) and a puppy pad.

"Bloody hell, do you join threads about unexpected surprise pregnancies and lay into the op, or is it just puppies?"

Just animals, because weirdly, people don't plan to surprise other people with babies....

Though if you mean women getting pregnant on purpose without telling their partner they're planning to - I think you'll find those threads get more than just a few posts pointing out why it's not a good idea.

Gorgeous puppy OP and very thoughtful husband! Enjoy the cuddles

DailyMailPenisPieces · 10/10/2016 20:28

Oh OP, he is gorgeous Grin.

You soon learn in this section of Mumsnet that the mood hoovers (love that) will leap out before you've even had a chance to enjoy whatever it was you were excited about. Very judgey people who should really give people a chance to explain themselves first and not assume everyone is a bad dog owner Hmm. Really unnecessary.

Anyhow - enjoy your lovely, snuggly puppy OP!

CalmItKermitt · 10/10/2016 20:53

Yeah if you're unsupportive of bybs you're a mood Hoover 🙄

CalmItKermitt · 10/10/2016 20:55

Btw OP those nails need trimming. Unsurprisingly it doesn't look as if the "breeder" has been doing them.

BastardGoDarkly · 10/10/2016 21:11

Awwww he's gorgeous op.

( costa you're not a mood hoover, you're ace :) )

Thought I'd pop back and let everyone know Bruno is doing great, his toilet training is going really well and in the last 3 days we have only had 4 accidents (which is pretty good going, he seems to pee and pooh non stop) we used puppy pads for the first few days, but have moved to using a lead so when he comes in from going to the toilet he can be rewarded. He is also being taught that he can mouth/nibble lightly but if he's too rough we'll say 'ow' loudly, if he doesn't stop then we say it again but place him in his crate (with door open) and ignore him for a bit. He seems to have grown loads since we got him!

Gorgeous boy!

We had our westie when DD was two. She was pretty good at respecting his boundaries and as a result they really did grow up together. She was 16 when we lost him and utterly bereft. So many happy memories for her though and I hope that Bruno brings the same for you Flowers

Bigfam · 24/10/2016 00:01

Thankyou both.
Sounds like your westie was a perfect little guy SistersOfPercy and a part of a great family ☺
