Advice with DD and schnoodle puppy

Our 5 yo DD had developed a slight fear of dogs and we put it down to her being a bit silly. We discussed with her about getting a puppy and we viewed some and ended up buying a female schnoodle after a couple of visits to her.

We are 1 week in and each day our DD is different, first day she loved her, then had a couple of days of her being a wuss and yday was really good around her and now today back to being a wuss.

The puppy is 9 weeks old and jumps up at DD a bit, but I think its because DD pulls away a bit so puppy thinks she is playing a game.

Any advice on how to get DD to be more calm and gel with pup? I know as she gets older she will be fine.

Thanks

I would involve DD in feeding the puppy, taking a bit of responsibility and enjoyment from looking after it.

Could you buy her a book about training/tricks?

They could have time together sitting on the floor with cushions on and around DD which would make it harder for the puppy to jump up and easier for DD to feel safe and with a bit of space.

I wouldn't encourage her to pick it up or give cuddles etc
