The cat brought it back on her travels and he took it off her. I tried bribing him with treats to drop it but he just swallowed it whole instead
Should he be ok? He got all his standard jabs recently and I really can't afford another vets bill unless it's really necessary

Probably be ok but might be sick and that won't be a pleasant mess to clean up.

Make sure he's wormed. Cats and dogs can get roundworm from eating rodents I think.

Definitely worm him! our springer catches and eats mice and voles, and we are constantly having to worm her. Wild things are falloff parasites.
