Friend's dog staying - do I tell her she's injured?

My friend is on holiday and her dog is staying with me. I have 2 dogs myself. This morning DP let them all into the garden and since he didn't bother to separate them in any way, as I normally do at exciting moments, in the commotion guest dog somehow got bitten on the face by my old boy. He is quite crotchety at the moment as he is in pain from arthritis/HD. He's punctured through her cheek and although it's a small hole and she will be fine, she's needed quite a clean up at the vet.
Do I tell my friend whilst she's away, or when she gets back? I don't want to worry her at all or ruin her holiday, but don't want to keep her in the dark either. What to do?

I would tell her to keep her informed. After all the dog has been to the vet and will presumably be fine, so I'd let her know.

I think I would tell her because then if she wants to make alternative arrangements for the rest of the week she can, ie ask you to get him in at a kennels. Which she may want to do if she's worried about it happening again.

No I wouldn't say, if there's no serious damage then no point worrying her.

I always think when we're on holiday and ddog is with our parents/dog walkers that I'd rather be kept in blissful ignorance about any issues, unless of course a decision had to be made about treatment/euthanasia. But it sounds like a straightforward injury that is all sorted now, so I would let her know when she comes back to collect her.

Is she likely to be facing a bill for the vet treatment? That might also put a downer on their holiday.

She is my best friend in the world and I can guarantee she will want her to stay with me. Also we are all going away on Friday minus old dog so that risk is removed.
I have paid the bill.

I'd leave it.

One of my boys had a hairy moment or two with his mates in the heat of the moment and they were fine later.

Also, if your old boy is in pain, then he would do that, wouldn't he.

Just watch them like hawk in the next few days.

I wouldn't tell her ,unless she calls/ texts and specifically asks after the dog , it's not serious and you've dealt with it appropriately .

I'd want to know. I have a very elderly dog and don't like leaving him. I'd want to know if anything at all had happened to him.

If you think she would want the dog yo stay anyway then don't tell her.
