Also if anyone can give advice on deciding on the 'right' breed for my family and/or finding a non dodgy breeder?

Maybe describe your circumstances a bit on here such as size of house, age of dc, previous dog experience etc and people might be able to free suggestions.

Thanks me & dp were both brought up with dogs me golden retrievers him collies/cross breeds but have never owned our own. We have DS10 but I have younger nieces/nephews that the dog would need to be used to.
3 X per week the dog would be in by itself 9.15 -2.45 although both dsis & ddad have said they would take/walk the dog.

Dp would take the dog for a 15 minute walk around 7am I would then take it a walk about 9 the 3 days I work it would only be another 15 minutes but the other days would be an hour. I would then take it another 15-30 minute walk at 3. It would then get another hours walk around 8ish, does this sound ok? Too little? Too much?

The dog breeds we are thinking of are golden retrievers, labs or cocker spaniels although we haven't fully looked into this, they are just some of the breeds we have both agreed we would like.
