What did I just find on my Lab X???

She's just returned from a long weekend with DF and DWeimaraners and had a blast but I've just plucked this tiny monster off her coat. Can anyone identify it? Will she need fumigating/vet treatment? TIA - I'm going for a lie down after some very undignified flapping while I bagged the bugger!

That's an earwig. Not a dog parasite, just an ordinary little garden/ domestic insect that happened to be stuck to her.

You've never seen an earwig??? They don't live on dogs btw it probably fell on her and hitched a ride

Haha Haggis - I keep feeling itchy just thinking of it. I'm always in the garden too so I'm surprised I've never seen one either: s'weird!

I used to collect them out of the roses as a game. Even though I was scared they would crawl insider ears and eat my brains!

I see earwigs every day. I'm so surprised you can not recognise one.

They're utterly harmless.

Those pinchers can give you a nasty nip though.

Maybe the birds round here find them a delicacy and snap them up quickly?
