Two year old dog isn't house trained. Is it possible???

We have acquired a border terrier off an elderly relative who was clearly unable to look after him. He's not neutered and had had no injections. We took him to the vet had him immunised and flees and chipped and got a course of worming drops. However now he's home with us approx two weeks, he is walked twice a day most days. Sometimes only once as he wont walk in the rain. The back door is open so he can go out if he needs too. He still soils and pees in the house. He cocks his legs all over the place. It's driving me to distraction.

Can u offer any good resources or advice please.

I'd say its doable but you will have to go right back to basics, as if he is a puppy - take out often and praise like mad when he goes outside. Ignore when he goes inside

If he has never been taught, then yes, he may not be housetrained but you can teach him now. You need to watch him as if he was a puppy and just start from scratch.
Lifting his leg indoors a lot can also be a sign of stress, but you need to catch him about to do it and take him quickly outside ( without getting cross ) and give loads of praise for doing it outside instead.

Treat him like an 8 week old puppy. So every 15 mins and increase the time slowly. Before and after a meal. Straight after waking. Plenty of praise if they do it outside.
