Diarrhoea on the pavement..?

How do you clean it up? Dpup did a sloppy poo this morning on the pavement. I picked up what I could with the bag and had a bottle of water on me so I poured some on it but it didn't budge.

What do you do?

This is why I've trained my dogs to poo in the garden.
Still traumatised by diarrhoea incident 2 years ago when lab suddenly produced a huge liquid poo, loads of people there to witness my humiliation including people waiting for a bus .
Was near railway station so managed to get some cleaning stuff from there, so embarrassing cleaning it all up in front of an audience.
I always carry some of the spray that's supposed to solidify poo, but never used it as dogs now go in the garden so I can clean up properly.

I wasn't expecting him to do it on our walk as he'd been out in the garden this morning a few times before we left. I guess if it was diarrhoea, he might have struggled to keep it in til we got back.

Not heard of that spray though. Does it work?

I have a packet of wipes with me so use these if needs be.

What stuff is that, Alco?

I am not a dog owner. I abhor poo on the pavement.. But id class diarrhoea as one of those unavoidable things.

this is the spray. No longer available from Amazon though and not v good reviews. I haven't needed to use it so far but take it on walks just in case after horrific diarrhoea incident.

When it happened to Ddog I cleaned up what I could then went back with a bucket of hot water a brush and disinfectant. It was right in the middle of a really narrow pavement. Poor dog seemed as embarrassed as me.

Wipes sound like a good option. Can't believe I didn't think of them!

happened to me recently with my aged dog (he does sometimes have a fit of the squits even though he has 'gone' as normal not long before)
I was visiting but picked up what I could, went back out with cleaning stuff and hot water and kitchen towels but it was a br to clean all of it up
But I know how I would feel finding it on the pavement if I was walking. No-one who passed (to whom I apologised profusely in a very British way ) made any derogatory comments as they could see I was doing my best. - which is all you can do.

On a slightly lighter note - why do dogs keep walking on when they have squits leaving a lovely messy trail instead of keeping it in one place

Mollie I know. He started off on the grass and then by the time I had realised it was sloppy and had found the poo bag, it was all over the pavement!

You could try training to only poo on grass. My two won't wee or poo until they step onto grass so either our garden or a grass verge at the beginning of our walk. It does take the stress out of the dreaded surprise trots.

Had this with my dog once and tried to wipe it up with the poo bag that was over my hand - small dog, so not a lot of poo - bag tore so I ended up scraping the skin on my finger and getting poo on the scrape.

Once saw some, no doubt, embarrassed, owner had left a poo bag as a sort of warning flag on top of a large squiggy poo that dog had left in the middle of the pavement. Probably the only thing you can do sometimes.

I always have wipes and tissues as well as poo bags for that very reason

In the garden I am The Master Pooper Scooper. On walks I get it on my hands, bag, lead!!! I get cheap anti bac kids wipes. Good for me and pavements. Ddog only does small ones though. Don't know how I'd cope with a poonami😁

As long as the owner was coming back to clean up, not OK to just leave it.

I agree with the pp that as much as I hate dog poo you can only do what you can do with the resources available. If you lived close a big bucket of water might b good.

Put some liquid clothes washing liquid in the bottle. It'll do a better job of cleaning it away and is none toxic to dogs/cats. I take a small rucksack with soapy water bottle, wipes, good kitchen roll (flash back of picking up pieces of cheap soggy kitchen roll ), extra bags, doggy first aid kit, extra lead, (amazing how many run away dogs I've caught over the years) and money. Use the bag as a glove to hold the tissue and clean up what you can, double bag, then use the water to squirt the left overs towards the gutter/grass.

Thanks for all the tips - I think I need to get myself a dog walking bag organised, and then I am ready to go and a bit better prepared!
