Dog shedding.. eek!

I have Daisy 🌼 the 10 yr old mad glaswegian short haired Mongrel. She is delightful and we got her 9 months ago. She is shedding at the moment, and I feel bad whingeing slightly cos she is short haired and sparse on her tummy,so in the grand scheme of things it could be much worse!

Firstly - is it a time of year for dogs to shed?

Secondly, I have a little roller thing with sticky tape (think like a small paint roller) that I bought for removing pet hairs from clothing.

Am I OK to cut out the middle man and just roller the dog? I do brush her, but rollering her too makes a real difference! She is quite happy to be rollered but I feel a bit guilty?

Use a furminator on the dog. With regular use it should help with the shedding as it removes dead hair

Yes furminators are ace!

My girl is just at the start of her moult. She had her winter one in January so I was expecting it around now. Her sister used to do it in March & August. My MILs St was always 'late' & would do it in May time then again in October so I think it depends on the dog.

Oh Lord! Am just going through the first year with her so still finding out about her...

She was found on the streets of Glasgow aged around two and went to my friends parents in Paisley, but unfortunately they died when she was 9, so she came to us. She is a complete mix, and even the vet wouldn't like to hazard a guess. But she is brilliant!

Am originally from Yorkshire, but the second I say " have ye no got a wee sore belly? "she looks delighted and rolls over for a belly rub!
