Getting a puppy while pregnant?

Has anyone done this before? Bad idea or not?

My mum did when pregnant with me. I thought it would be a good Idea but dh said wait and see. Thank bloody goodness he did! I don't think I'll consider a puppy for the next 10 years

we got our dog when I was 3 months pregnant. Best decision for us. We her hot on training knowing we had a mini monster coming and spent a lot of tie socialising a tiny puppy with babies and children. Our dog is now 18 months and is phenomenal with the 10 month old - the dog is young enough to love playing and being prodded and thankfully trained enough to have a solid sit, leave, recall and 'calm' (slow down what you are doing).

The baby is ill at the moment and sleeping a lot... the dog has not left his side and came and dragged me out of bed when the baby was grizzling in his sleep at 3 am.

oh and we had specific one on one training with a dog trainer to baby prep the puppy and set up safe zones around the house for the dog - basically no touch zones so the dog can hide should he need to ! stupid dog dragged one of his mats next to the baby's day cot!
