DGreyhound has just demolished around half of a tray of sugar free brownies I made, the recipe contains the following

75g wholemeal flour
75g cocoa
130g butter
200g dates
Banana
2 eggs

Nothing im worried about apart from the cocoa. So she has essentially eaten 40g ish of cocoa. She seems fine.
Should i be worried do you think?

I found this: calculator which suggests that, if your dog is around 30kg it's had a dangerous amount and you should get to the vet.

mistlethrush · 27/05/2016 17:18

No, sorry that was for 75g
40g was probably going to get messy and worth calling the vet.

Give vet a ring and ask for advice. He will probably be ok but it's better to be sure!
You may have a poopy puppy later though...

Thankyou mistle I think she is 25kg max, i used the calc and it suggests to ring the vet. I will ring them now.

Thanks

And just noticed the dates in the ingredients too - not dangerous but will certainly give the runs!
Good luck Flowers

I only used 30kg as my lurcher is a bit smaller than most greys - and weighs 27kg - but I think a lot of that is muscle so perhaps she's rather heavy for her size! Hope all goes well even if you have a few problems initially.

Good luck! Bet DGreyhound gets the emetic injection and the charcoal. Should be fine after that, our "bloody dog" ate a tub of cocoa powder and lived to steal another day...Nicked my toast from the toaster this morning. Hope you're ok.
