Bleeding nail help!!

BeckyWithTheHair · 10/05/2016 20:50

I cut my puppy's nails earlier today, he's such a wriggler I managed to cut one a little too short and it bled. It has stopped bleeding now and I've cleaned it and covered it with a bandage.

How long should I leave it bandaged? (He keeps licking it!)

Should I not walk him for a while?

Should I take him to the vet?

It doesn't need to be bandaged once the bleeding stops. It will heal quickly.

You can walk him as normal. It is possible, but unlikely I would think, that it could bleed again if he catches it the wrong way. If that happens just apply pressure until the bleeding stops.

No need for the vets.

I think everyone has done this and its not a massive deal. I have something like this for when I do it.

I am physically incapable of clipping my dogs nails without quicking her.

Suggest you look into getting a grinder instead for doing nails.
