Help Adam get his dog Zane back

Adams ex partner rehomed his dog Zane and the dog was taken to a Greyhound rescue who believed the dog belonged to the woman. Adam tracked the dog to his NE home and even got to hold Zane for a few precious moments. The new owner will not relinquish Zane.

Thread isn't to knock the new owners or the Greyhound rescue but to give support to Adam.

legal action? Small claims court? Against the new owner and the rescue.

On the basis of what you have said the greyhound rescue did not in fact have the authority to rehome the dog, even if they believed they did, so the new owner hasn't got any rights.

It's called 'conversion' in law.

I wouldn't sign this without knowing more, sorry. He says he's made decisions that will haunt him the rest of his days? And that some folks say he's an animal abuser? Bit more to this than meets the eye?

What's the betting he dumped his ex and left her to look after the dog?

But then I agree with a pp, I thought some of the comments made were a bit weird too and tbh, it has always been rescue policy not to disclose the new owner details or return the dog.
Once signed over they are legally the property of the rescue.

How long was he at the rescue before they rehomed him ? Without that kind of info it's not something I will be signing as I assume he had left the dog with the ex partner .
